Desert Ice Figure Skating Club (Rio Rancho, NM)

(24 January 2010) The Desert Ice Figure Skating Club celebration of National Skating Month was very well received by its many attendees yesterday! The festivities all took place at Santa Fe's Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC) from 11:00am through 2:45pm. A whole range of activities were carefully coordinated between Desert Ice staff and GCCC management. There were many activities, perhaps the most exciting being the free skating lessons! The excitement was captured firsthand by reporters from the Santa Fe New Mexican (see the article here).

Wow! In addition to the free skating lessons, there were raffles for fun prizes, a skate swap, free tours of the Zamboni (the unique ice skating machine you may have seen prepare rinks between skating sessions), a silent auction, and other fun activities. The Santa Fe city manager (Robert Romero) even stopped by!

Desert Ice FSC warmly congratulates Tawney for passing her Intermediate Moves test at our recent (January 16th) test session. Way to go, Tawney!!

We will (hopefully soon) be offering a Paypal option for online payment. Until then, please print out this form and send payment (cash or check).

Desert Ice Figure Skating Club (DIFSC) is having a test session at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center in Santa Fe on Saturday January 16th at 6:15pm. Gold level judges will be supporting this test session, which is a great opportunity to test your high level skaters. The deadline for applications is Saturday, January 9th, 2010.

Backstage preparations are serious business (just ask any parent)!

Christmas programs with Desert Ice are totally engaging. Don't be surprised to find that even the parents are putting on their skates to chip in!

Don't be a pumpkin, come to the ice show!!The GCCC Arena is set to have a Halloween Ice Skating Show on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 6:00pm. Come join in the ghoulish fun, our own "Halloween on Ice" spectacular!

Desert Ice Figure Skating Club is pleased to offer dedicated ice sessions. We will be using forms to track participation and optimize our resources. Skaters may use the on-line form below or manually submit a paper version of the form available by clicking here (NOT YET AVAILABLE).

Notes:

• Schedules need to be turned in prior to the skaters first session on the calendar
• Those who do not turn in a schedule will be charged for Option #1
