Originally established in 1988, the Desert Ice Figure Skating Club (DIFSC) DIFSC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our membership is diverse, with members as young as seven through adult. Our members compete from beginning levels up through the intermediate level. Club provides ice for competitive training and assistancefor skaters to compete at the Regional level. It is also a great bunch of people. The coaches, parents, and skaters enjoy the challenge and comradeship of skating practices, testing events, exhibitions, and (of course) competitions. Skating is a wholesome and character-building activity, as anyone in the sport will quickly tell you.

Our club relies solely on fund raising and donations to make possible some of the best training and environment for the New Mexico skater.

The coaches

Lack of quality instruction can be a significant barrier to the development of a competitive skater. Desert Ice Figure Skating Club is fortunate to have alliances with some of New Mexico's best ice skating coaches. The quality of our coaches is reflected in the confidence of our skaters and their excellent standings in local and regional competitions.
